We bought this for our son when he was 4, and he is 6.5 and still uses it a lot. It has held up perfectly, though we have never tried it outside. Whenever I need him to get out some extra energy (esp in the winter), I have him do hops on the ball. His 3 yr old sister likes it as well, though she is still a bit small for it (she's tiny for her age), and I even put the baby on it on her tummy for playing and to build up those core muscles!I do recommend actually using the face stickers it comes with for another project (like draw them a big circle on a piece of paper or something) instead of the ball. While it is a cute idea, the stickers came off really quickly and left sticky residue on the ball that got covered with fuzz and such from the floors. No big deal, but if I had it to do again I wouldn't used the stickers on the ball so I thought I'd mention it to give someone else an alternate idea for them.

Bought one for my 18 month old and my 4 yr old. Bought an 18in and a 26in. Review said it was suitable for an 18month and up. So I bought, it, but it is way to big and my 18 month has no idea what to do. The 26in. one took a little while for my 4 yr old to figure out, but she finally did and loves it. She bounces all over the place. I would definitely recommend for children atleast 3 yrs old. If your child has long legs it will be hard to do on either ball because it is so low to the ground. Overall an okay product, just not for an 18 month old.

This is a small bouncing ball, however I won't say it was suitable for an 18 months old. More 3 - 4 year old depending on how tall your pre-schooler is. I think it's ideal as a first timers hopper. I didn't want to buy one that was too big for my son who is 4 1/2 years old with just over average length legs. This hopper is perfect for him. He will outgrow it quite quickly but he has a younger sister who it will be passed on to so that's not a worry for us. I initially under inflated it slightly to allow him to get used to the concept and to find the right bouncing position, this took all of an hour and now he is off! I'm not sure how this hopper would hold up to use outdoors as the skin is not overly thick but for indoor use it's fab!Note - I had to wipe mine down with some soapy water after inflating as it had a slippery greasy layer on it. Perhaps this is to stop the plastic sticking to itself as it comes folded, who knows but yours may need a wipe over before use. Oh and it comes with stickers. A previous reviewer mentioned that she put them on only for them to come off and then leave sticky residue all over the ball which then attracted fluff etc.
