Fun for kids, Not for parents (due to design).

The gun itself, is made well & is a cool idea. HOWEVER, once your child beings playing with it, it quickly becomes a pain in the a** for parents, for 2 reasons.... First, it goes through ammo quicker than the ammo can be replenished. This is because the ammo is sold as tiny "pellets" which, before being inserted into the gun, must be soaked in water for 3 hours. (Yes, 3 hours!!!). So, imagine your child quickly goes through the first batch of ammo, and then he (or she) begins asking you - every 10 minutes - if the NEXT batch of ammo is ready, and you have to keep telling him "No, not yet. We still got 2 hours & 50 minutes to wait". ..."Are they ready yet?"..."No, still gotta wait 2 hours & 40 minutes"...."Are they ready yet?".....etc.Even if you prepare another batch of ammo in advance, your child can still go through it quicker than you can supply it.This brings up my 2nd point.... You will need to keep buying ammo for it! Unlike a nerf dart gun (or other guns which can continually re-use the same source of ammo over & over), these "water pellets" get shot out & they either split apart or get lost in the surroundings, etc. They "could" be re-used if you find one still in one piece, but in the long run, you'll end up buying more & more & more of these things. ....and then waiting for them to soak 3 hours per batch.So, it doesn't matter which Exploderz gun you buy -- they all use the same ammo, therefore, the same problem. Save your money for a different toy gun with better design! :)

No bang for the buck

I purchased for my 11 yr. old sons birthday.He saw the commercials and thought they looked great.Definitely a don't buy.I read reviews on other exploderz and wish I listened to what I read on the bad reviews instead of the good.These are hard to operate. Only one pellet comes out per pull back action and they do not explode at all. They are small gel balls that merely split in half if you give it all your might.They do not have the shoot em up thrill boys like. These will just end up in the unused toy pile.I'd go with nerf or supersoakers as was my original plan.
