The moment my son unwrapped the football and figured out how to turn on the lights on the glasses he was completely awestruck.The football comes with two glasses (my package had one pair with red lights and another one with green lights in it). At night, or in a dark room, one puts the glasses on and gives the football an instant (red or green, depending on which glasses are used) colored "glow effect". It's so easy to play in the dark outside now and still see the ball being thrown back and forth (given that one wears the glasses). Wonderful for cool summer nights outside. My son loves to play in a darkened room just to look at the glowing football. However, one can also use this toy without the glasses.The ball itself is made of rubber/foam material and pretty durable. I like the fact that it is not too hard, which means it can also be used by smaller kids (I think the recommended minimum age of 6 years is appropriate for this toy). The glasses are made of plastic but look very sturdy as well. For right now, I am really happy for my kid that he has the opportunity to play with a really cool toy that gets him moving around and keeps him entertained.

This is a very classic toy with a modern twist that my sons loved!I've bought my kids Nerf toys before but they weren't really interested. They've had the Nerf Firevison Sports Football for over a month and they're still playing with it, sometimes at night in the backyard or on the weekends in the park with friends. I'm really surprised by how much they love the glasses and how playing football at night adds a whole extra layer of fun for kids. I've bought a few extra pairs of glasses for my nieces and nephews or friends that come over to play, that way there aren't any fights!The football is pretty solid in itself, I was worried the glow strips on the sides of the football that are activated when you wear the glasses, would fall off after awhile but they're still hanging on and the football is in really good shape for something that's been grabbed and dropped by all the kids in our neighborhood.The one real negative this product has for me is that the glasses can fall off your head if you're smaller or running really fast. If the glasses fall off at night, you can't see the football and then the play is ruined, so adjustable glasses or strap in the back would be helpful for younger kids with smaller heads.

I bought this football for my step-brother's 9th birthday. He and his friends would not put it down all weekend. While my step-brother has every toy known to man.... this football was clearly the toy of choice among him and his friends. Their favorite aspect of the toy was the way it glowed at nighttime. When it gets dark you put on the visual glasses (which are included) and have a completely new experience. There are certain visual effects (the way the ball lights up) that can only be seen with the glasses on......which the kids obviously loved. This is a great new spin on a classic toy!
